Emily Wolf Preszler

 

Emily Wolf Preszler, 91, was born in Ashley, North Dakota on August 21, 1925. Emily was the daughter of Christian and Magdalena Wolf and sister to Eva, Emma and Charles. 

 Emily is survived by her four loving children, Herbert, Jr. (Hubba)Carroll Vincent (Vince) Lina Grace and Timothy Adam (Timmy) four Grandchildren, Collette, Brooklyn, Michael and Bethany and six great-grandchildren, Russell, Rhett, Chase, Makena, Cole, Timothy and Hazel.

 Emily graduated from Ashley High School in 1943, where she played basketball for the Ashley Wildcats.  During her high school years, Emily learned to be an entrepreneur by working in her mother’s business.

 In 1944 Emily married the love of her life, Herbert Preszler, Sr. after meeting at an USO Dance. Emily was a dedicated wife and devoted mother to her four children. Emily truly loved and deeply cared for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all their endeavors.  She was their biggest fan, cheerleader, supporter and caretaker. She made countless apple pies and should have been the author of “Chicken Soup is Good for Your Soul”, as Chicken Soup was her cure for all things. She was an amazing cook and held dear to old world family recipes. Her compassion for others and her lust for life made her an amazing business woman and partner.

 Emily, and her late husband, owned and operated Victor True Value Hardware, in Victor, California for thirty-six and one-half years.  They both retired in 1983 and packed their bags to see the World.  Both loved to travel and visited Europe, Japan, Tahiti, Hawaii and the Caribbean. 

 In addition to operating a successful business, Emily and Herb were active in the commercial fishing industry in Fort Bragg, California. Together, they owned and operated the vessels, “Valley Girl” and “Big Em.”  Emily and Herb loved to spend their summers vacationing on the Pacific north coast where they enjoyed the beauty of the red woods, lush flowers and cool climate.

Emily was a member of the Zion Reformed Church and Order of the Eastern Star.

 Graveside services will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lodi Historical Cemetery located on Pine Street in Lodi, California.  

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shiners Children’s Hospital, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817.  Both Emily and Herb were life-long advocates and supporters of the organization. 

Catherine Seibel

Born in Merced California on September 21, 1946. Daughter of Alfred and Margarida Dias. She was the third of four children. Survived by her Husband Robert Seibel of Tempe, Arizona, her Mother Margarita Dias of Santa Rosa, California, Brothers Alfred Jr of Lodi and Mike of Lafayette, Colorado, two nephews and four nieces. Her only child Mark passed in 1989 and her sister Pat Paxia passed in 2010. Viewing will be in the afternoon on Sunday July 23rd at Donahue Funeral Home in Lodi. Services will be held at Donahue Funeral Chapel on Monday July 24th at 10:30 in Lodi. Interment will follow at Harmony Grove Cemetery in Lockeford.

Jeanette Schneider

Jeanette Sue Schneider was born January 27, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio. She passed away at home in Lodi, Ca., on July 11, 2017 at the age of 66 from cancer.

Jeanette worked in nursing for many years and was also an avid homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, especially the summers she spent with her granddaughters at her pool.

Jeanette is survived by her mother; Ruth Lee Hamrick of Redlands, Ca., son; Ian (Beth) Schneider of Lodi, granddaughters; Hannah Jeannette Schneider and Katie Jane Schneider of Lodi, brother; Jim Hamrick (Marie) of Yucaipa, CA., and her sister; Brenna Stotts (Larry) of Redlands, CA. She was preceded in death by her father; James Finley Hamrick and her husband; Kurt Schneider.

No services will be held at Jeanette’s request. Placement with her husband at Cherokee Memorial Park will be private. Memorial contributions can be made in Jeanette’s memory to PALS (Animal Shelter) at 1040 W. Kettleman Lane, #379, Lodi, CA 95240.

Ruby Bowen

Ruby Helen (Scholdburg) Bowen  85, of Stockton, Ca. and Lisbon, Ohio, died at 11:45 PM Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Vista Center in Lisbon, Ohio.
She was born on January 3, 1932 in Wichita County, Texas, the daughter of the late Julius Caesar and Ethel (Geurin) Scholdburg.
She retired from the Pacific Bell Phone Company where she was an operator. She is survived by her son, Michael Gene Bowen of Lisbon, Ohio, five grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Pauletta Wallace, four siblings and a grandchild. Services will be held later this week at the Donahue Funeral Home in Lodi, Calif.and burial in Cherokee Memorial Park. Arrangements were handled by the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem, Ohio.
